Every family has the potential to succeed. The Haven Home helps make that success a reality.
Our model of providing a temporary homelike shelter and offering ongoing, comprehensive assistance with housing and job placement, while supporting the emotional and social needs of parents and children alike, helps to empower more than 400 families each year with the resources, personalized solutions, and support network they need to build brighter futures.
We partner with families as they work toward achieving long-term stable housing and financial independence. Ours is a nurturing and supportive process that emphasizes the importance of strong families and personal dignity. We take a highly interactive approach, customizing services for each family and each family member, but the work is collaborative. We believe each individual has the ability to achieve their own success.
FAMILY OVERFLOW SHELTER
The Haven Home provides temporary shelter to homeless women with children awaiting more permanent beds at local family shelters. The building can house up to 17 families in individual rooms and includes an on-site laundry room, computer room, playroom, dining room and kitchen.
Asset Building
Programs While at The Haven Home residents can participate in a myriad of volunteer-led activities including job readiness workshops, college prep programs, holiday and birthday celebrations, arts and crafts, youth activities and support groups.
Community Outreach
The Haven Home’s community outreach initiative distributes diapers, baby formula, children’s clothing, toiletries, feminine hygiene items and other items to former residents and housed women with children who are struggling to meet basic needs.
